Urge Congress to Negotiate an Immediate End to the Government Shutdown

Due to the government shutdown funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and other federal nutrition programs has run out. This means that tens of millions of Americans, including children, are at risk of going hungry.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has emergency SNAP funds it can use, but they will only cover about half of normal monthly benefits. Two courts have ruled the USDA must release the emergency SNAP funds.

Please email your members of Congress now and urge them to negotiate an end to the government shutdown and to tell the USDA to immediately release any and all emergency SNAP funds.
