The farm bill is our nation’s most important anti-hunger legislation. It includes the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the global aid program Food for Peace. SNAP is the cornerstone of our nation’s nutrition safety net, helping more than 40 million Americans put food on the table. Food for Peace provides emergency humanitarian food assistance to tens of millions of people globally every year. Unfortunately, farm bill proposals have been introduced that would cut $30 billion from SNAP over the next decade and reduce the amount of funding available for humanitarian aid in Food for Peace.
Ask your senators and representatives to support a farm bill that protects SNAP and Food for Peace.
