Learning Hungry at UNC Charlotte

Friday, October 16,
5:00 - 6:30 p.m. ET
In person

College of Health & Human Services (CHHS) 155
8844 Craver Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262

UNC Charlotte and the Graduate Public Health Association (GPHA) Bread for the World proudly present an evening of education and action focused on hunger on American college campuses.

Learning Hungry delves into the hidden crisis of food insecurity among college students, uncovering how hunger impacts academic success, mental health, and graduation rates.

Through powerful student stories and data, the film explores systemic solutions from policy reform to campus leadership aiming to ensure food is never a barrier to earning a college degree.

Following the film, we will be joined by Congresswoman Alma Adams, who represents UNC Charlotte and the surrounding community, along with a panel of students, advocates, and experts to discuss ways we can act to address this hidden crisis.

Finally, we will take action by writing letters to Congress to raise awareness among the people who can help change the systems that allow students to go hungry in the wealthiest nation in the world.
